The Pearls of Scotland – Strathclyde 1988
A Pearls of Scotland bottling from Strathclyde Distillery, located in the Gorbals district of Glasgow.
Distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2015, this rare 26 year old whisky comes in at 55.5% ABV and is 1 of only 169 bottles.
Nose: Possibly corn but there are enough belligerent spices to be from early wheat mash. An infusion of dark weighty sugars has muddied the waters.
Palate: Big spices attacking full pelt while profound sugars soften the blow.
Finish: Medium length as the oak gathers traction. No off notes, no tiredness,
very pleasant and impressive.
The 70cl bottle comes packaged in a smart navy box.
